How do I report spam in a group to Yahoo?

  • I seem to get an inordinate amount of spam messages being posted to my Yahoo! groups. How do I report them to Yahoo?

    It is up to the Group moderator to deal with spam. Reporting it to Yahoo won't do any good. If you are the moderator, I recommend setting the group to moderate new members, since spammers generally join and start spamming right away. If you find spam in the pending messages, either remove or ban the member or set them to cannot post messages. If existing members are spamming, you would need to set all messages to require moderator approval or find the spammers and remove, ban, or set them to not be able to post. If you are not the moderator of the group, you can try complaining to the moderator or just leave the group. Find a better moderated group or create your own.

If you are a group moderator, make sure you make entry by request only and delete anyone who joins to send spam. If you are not the moderator, then complain to the moderator or owner of the group. Either one of them is the person who should deal with it.
