How to merge one yahoo group with another yahoo group?

Is it possible to repost messages added to one yahoo group into another new yahoo group we are creating?

  • We have one group and are looking to start another similar group and add additional members. We want to be able to share some (but not all) of the postings we have in our original group. The question is, is there a way of reposting messages from our original group into the new group so that our added members will have access to these messages for learning purposes? All the members of the original group will be members of the new group, we will just be adding new members to the new group who are not part of the old group. How confusing, right!?!? I understand that I can repost them (copy and paste) under my name, stating "originally posted by ____" but I was hoping maybe there was a way of being able to repost them with the original author's name. Any advice or help? Thanks and sorry if it's a confusing question!

  • Answer:

You can do it a little more automatically than Copy & Paste by Forwarding the appropriate messages. For each message you want to Forward, view the message (by clicking its subject line in the message list of the first Group). Then click the Forward link at the top of the message. Then, in the box next to the "To:", type [email protected] , where SecondGroupName is the name of the Group you want to forward the message to. Note that when you scroll down, the original author's name is automatically at the top of the Forwarded message. Then click the Send button.
