Lifeguard From Uk To Australia.?
-
So i was wondering im from the uk and one of my options when im older is a beach lifeguard(not a pool lifeguard) obviously bondi beach is one of the places id like to work and i know the chances are slim but i think if you really want something that bad and work for it then someday you'll get it. ANYWAY i was wondering, if i lived in the uk till after university then moved over to AUS and i miraculously was that lucky to get a interview on bondi. do you HAVE to of lived in AUS all your life or would i still be considered if i passed all the physical edurance tests and interview? basicly would i still be eligable to get the job? but this isnt my only option, either a primary school teacher or lifeguard but im training for both & will do in university too. thanks :)

Answer:
Apart from coming for 12 months on a Working Holiday visa, the only way you can move to Australia and work is if you are able to get a skilled migration visa and that will not be possible with either of your intended occupations. Apart from the fact that most of our lifesavers are unpaid volunteers, Lifesaver is not listed as an eligible occupation for any kind of work visa. Primary School Teachers are only eligible for state or employer sponsored visas and you will find it impossible to get state government or employer sponsorship anywhere on the Australian coast - our only primary teacher shortages are in outback areas. If you want to move to Australia in the future, you will need qualifications and experience in an occupation on our Skilled Occupations List (SOL) but you should be aware that the list is reviewed at least annually. The previous SOL listed Pharmacist, Hairdresser, Cook, Baker and a number of occupations that do not appear on the new SOL and similar changes can be expected every year. http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/_pdf/sol-schedule3.pdf The current SOL
