How To Put An Ad On Gumtree?

Why don't Perth people sell their used furniture? Gumtree, Craigslist, Quokka, Auction?

• It pains me to see all the perfectly good dressers and bedframes getting rained on, and ruined, before verge collection. Why don't Perth people sell them (put a free ad in Gumtree, Craigslist, Quokka, Auction?)

  Have you tried any of these ways of getting rid of unwanted furniture? (a) Salvos/Vinnies are very choosy. I had 2 perfectly good mattresses to give them. They didn't want them because they were more than 12 months old! They did come for a wardrobe, but only after I promised that it was in excellent condition (and worth about $500). (b) Advertise and wait for someone to call. Nobody does. Mattresses, study desks, wardrobes - advertised free in Quokka, Sunday Times etc. Nobody called. Perth people have too much money in their pockets due to the mining boom. Wait until the recession hits - see what they'll do then.
