Where can i get a first job at 14.?

  • Hi, i'm currently attending high school (year 9) and will be turning 14 in March. I was wondering, where i could get a good first job, which i would be able to devote my spare time after school and during the holidays to. Im aiming for big stores like woolies and coles and big w, but willing to veer off into the video store and games store side of jobs. Also, i was wondering what the best way to apply for these jobs is, and what i will need to do so. The online stuff is working out, and friends seem to be getting jobs a lot quicker without the online job search thing. All answer appreciated but preferably answerers concerning QLD (i live in QLD (brisbane, caboolture), and i'm not interested in the jobs an american can get. Thanks, rtx. ps. looking to start job around midd of 2010 (14 and 5 months), or whenever the above jobs will be available to me.

that chanccesofyou getting a job at ur age in a big store or any where is slim to none(insuance risk), and you need a job permit. go to your school and as the office where they keep te job permits (basically a job permit is a couple of papers, you a teacher, your parent(s) and the school adinstrator hasto sign so that you can work in an acctully job and the store o place wone be liable for anything sice your under age) your gona probable haveto look for a ocal store, like local pet store (not like pet smart) or grocery store an you have t hve your employer sign the papers too. You will probable get a job like a bag boy, and isle cleane ror staker or youllbe in the ack helping back there. Tey will not be prett jobs but you still get paid! good luck!
