Should I shop at the Co-Op at the bottom of my road or at the Tesco Extra store in the next town?
-
Are Tesco prices cheaper than the Co-Op to the degree that it would be worth the 5-minute bus journey each way? Plus I usually have about a 5 mins' wait for the bus first, so that's about 20 mins travelling each time I go grocery shopping. I get tired very easily too so sometimes I really don't feel like facing the trip there & back to Tesco so I'll just leave it, or I'll do it but suffer for it, and be really stressed out by the time I get back. I have social anxiety disorder which makes leaving the house difficult, and the fatigue is probably due to either diabetes or ME, as both run in my family, and I'm gonna get it checked w/ the doctor soon. I receive benefits so I'm not rolling in money but I do have enough to get by. The groceries budget I've given myself is £39 a week - would I manage to make that stretch at the Co-Op each week or would I have to keep shopping at Tesco? There's also a Tesco Express within walking distance in my town but I avoid going there as I know they only sell the most expensive products, and they add about 30p onto a lot of products over what you would pay at a Tesco Extra store.

Answer:
use you local co-op for bread, newspapers, etc. they often have good offers on too. they cant sell everything you need, so go to tesco occasionally to top up on other things.

Shop at your local co-op. Not only will it take a lot of the strain off you, you should also support your local shops - use them or lose them! As you won't be paying for travel or waiting for buses it will not be much more expensive - and the co op stuff is usually better quality! EDIT: Co-op's fair trade meat and goods are better quality. They taste better, last longer and the company is far more ethical than Tescos. Why should anyone care where a spoilt rich kid shops just because of an accident at birth?

I am only on benefit myself I have a local coop at top of my street wouldn't shop there for love nor money, money goes nowhere and you don't get value for money its also far too expensive would preferably go to tesco get far more for your brass (have you tried shopping on line at tesco and getting it delivered save the legs? I do, or go to a netto.
How can Co-op stuff be "better quality" of it is exactly the same brand item made in the same factory as the stuff sold in Tesco. If Prince William can use Tesco, all these snobs who think Tesco is not good enough for them should keep quiet
Sir Jam
you could join the co-op and get discounts and dividends
