What jobs are legal for a 14 year old to do in England?

Any Jobs a 13/14 year old can do in the England?

  • I was looking for a Job to get a bit of extra money, I looked into getting a paper round, but at my local newsagents there is a waiting list of about 30-40 other people. I'm turning 14 in a few months and I was wondering would that open up any other opportunities for me?

  • Answer:

Alot of my friends worked in small locally run cafes and shops, if your parents know anyone that manages a business that would be willing to hire you that could be a good starting point. Really nice to see someone so young looking to get into work, I hope you find someone that will hire you!

Legally you can work in a shop but most if not all employers will not employ you are you are extremely limited in the hours you can do. Your school also has to give you permission to work as it can interfere with your studies.
