Can anyone recommend craft malls in the New England area?

Craft supply shops/ haberdashery in the Newcastle upon tyne area?

• I live in Newcastle upon tyne in England and love to make my own jewelery, cushions, ornaments, decorate candles, picture frames and mirrors etc. At the minute the haberdashery department in Fenwicks and Bainbridges (John Lewis) are the only places I know to visit to buy things such as beads, findings, craft supplies. I dont like to buy from internet sites as once the item arrives the quality is never as good as it looks like it is when its advertised on the site. The colours/ patterns can vary alot. I do find some items in Fenwicks and Bainbridges pretty pricey so obviously, cheaper prices are better. I do drive so I can travel down to Durham or up to North Northumberland. So anywhere inbetween would be good. I hear there will be a convention style affair at the Arena in Newcastle. I think its called 'pins and needles' but have no idea when this is on. If anyone knows of any other events such as this too. I would be grateful to hear of them Many thanks and hugs x

  I buy loads of craft materials on the internet and the trick is to be selective about who you shop with: I can recommend Jillybeads, Spellbound Beads and Beads Direct for beads and jewellry making supplies in general. Create and Craft TV for general craft materials and they have an excellent website. Crafts at Home and Card Craft Uk are both reputable, reasonably priced and you can ring them with questions and they are really helpful. When it comes to shops try Dunelm they are expanding their craft offerings. There are Hobby Craft stores at Gateshead and Stockton on Tees. There is a Range Store at Stockon on Tees.
