How can I get into marketing?

Please help...how can an ASIAN wt a US marketing master degree get a job in London?(serious answers please)?

  • I'm doing my marketing master degree in New York but my boyfriend works in London, it's killing me because I miss him so much everyday. There's no other way for us to stay together unless I find a job in London after I graduate, and I'll finish my degree in June 2009. I really need some suggestions because the career centre in my school knows very little about job seeking in London, so I need to figure it out on my own. I know the biggest problems for me are 1. I'm not native, it'd be really difficult to get working visa. 2. I did my degree in US, not in UK 3. My degree is in marketing. Would any marketing company consider an applicant who's not familiar with the culture? So I don't have any high expectation, the only thing I'm looking for is give me a job please so I can stay in London. Any position, any salary, any job. I know there are alums in my school who are working in London, but I think I'll have to understand some basic rules before I contact them. Please give me some advice, if there's any website listing out the steps or guidance for special cases like me please let me know, I really need some help, thank you!

  • Answer:

The first thing you will need before even considering getting a job is a work permit, so have a look at this site who you can contact and get all the advice you need. Luck. www.visabureau.com/uk/work-permit.aspx
