Job offer from Marks and Spencer PLC, UK. (Fraud?)?
-
I had registered myself in the job portal naukri.com. A few days ago I got a job offer from Marks and Spencer PLC, UK. I had to complete an online test and submit my CV, which I did. Today they replied saying that I have been selected for the job and I need to report to work on 7th March, 2009. Since I don't have a work permit visa, they asked me to send a scanned copy of my passport to an agency called Motion Experts (Email:[email protected]… For some reason I feel that this is a scam because I never got a interview call or they did not ask for my educational and experience certificates before sending the offer letter. Moreover, I recently read in the newspaper that Marks and Spencer is cutting jobs due to recession. In such a scenario how can they hire someone from a different country, provide accommodation, air tickets for travel and a handsome salary (GBP 7200 per month !!!). Although they haven't asked for any money as of now, it is mentioned in the email that I need to pay some money as work permit visa processing fee once I complete the formalities like fillin the applications, etc. Does anybody have any knowledge about such fraudulent job offers made under the name of Marks and Spencer? I have given my personal information to them in the application that I sent earlier, I am worried that it may be misused.

Answer:
I have not seem Marks & Spencers in a job scam before. However £7200 is probably about what the managers of the largest stores earn. I presume you have not been offered a job at this level. Working for M&S is highly sought after in the UK. They have no need to look elsewhere for employees. No genuine job offer will require you to pay money.

Dear Friend, Please do not make any such commitments before seeing the concerned, in person. Reason: many of us kept receiving such mails more or less everyday. This is a kind of spam and of course a kind of fraudulence. Beauty of this kind of mails are generated on the name of popular job websites belonging to India. I have such a mail in my mail box which I have marked it as spam. Naturally frauds keep searching innocent people and try to exploit them to an optimum extent and direct all of them straight into hell. Be careful! Enquire with all the resources available before answering them. Check their existence easily through web search engines. Wish you a Good Future.
