What is it like to be a pharmacist in England (London?

Can a certified Pharmacist (with a degree) move to and work in the UK (specifically London?)?

  • So, I'm getting my Pharmacists degree in Canada, but I really want to move to London after-wards and work there. (Obviously, I need to work to get the money to go there, haha!) What would I need to take as far as, I don't know, sort of testing goes, to be able to work in England? It would only be for 2 years maximum, and then I would come back to Canada and work as a Pharmacist here.

  • Answer:

You have to be registered with The Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain to become a pharmacist in the UK. www.rpsgb.org.uk

First thing you need to find out is whether your degree is acceptable here - I'm guessing your lecturers could probably answer that. I do know that jobs in pharmacology here are not easy to come by - a friends daughter recently completed hers and she hasn't got a job in over a year (not in that field anyway)
