There are many model agencies advertising on Gumtree, All are scam!!?

You dont, if you were stupid enough to shell out the money you have to deal with it and pay the price! Never give money upfront to a model agency, they usually take a share of what you earn.

The Model world is not a pretty place for so many wanna to be's mainly through their own fault - total ignorance of the demands of a models life. A hard truth especially in the phase of "learn" ,"adapt","be right",deal with rejection as a fact of life not a way of life, you have to work to get experience but if you got no experience why should you be booked. That is the daily life for a starting model.She may get a break she may go home dreams shattered. There was an Internationally famous Beauty and Fashion photographer who when a starting model arrived for her "begged for" booked Photo test would pretend he did not know what she was there to do. His Greeting would be to look her very straight in the face and say "Ah you must be the Girl for the Nudes". Watch her reaction can she cope with it? Designed to shock and make her think. No nudes were being sought but it was a great sorter out and safe guard. 10 girls a day can beg for a test. The photographers assistant selects the Girls that have a look that might suit the Photographers style of work or a job that is in discussion where a fresh face is asked for in the brief. So Miss wannabe has arrived and that in her face "Girl for the Nudes" remark gets her to turn and run he is happy is she stands her ground he then look at her as a possible model a judge her on her physical suitability for projects in hand. He has established that this girl is not going to drop out to day or to morrow broken by banging on doors she has spirit. . The girl that thinks on her feet, laughs and jokes " Oh dear I only brought a couple of changes but left my Best Breasts at home proves she has the capability of dealing with tricky situation's and not being offended or intimidated. She gets respect, is photographed in the style she had expected there are no nudes unless she asks for them. He gives her valuable experience, pictures by a name photographer with studio time valued in thousands which would have been totally wasted had he not challenged her to react and not run. The next photographer might the one to frighten her instead. If a model tested drops out before being used by the studio that Free tested her, they just loose money.. Over a year the costs to the studio in wasted time, material,hair,make up and running cost will result in a loss of income equal to 12 months work for 10 months money.Not a good way to run a studio but a great way to insure the runners run early. Flippant,smart and even hurtful remarks are a part of Model's daily 'deal with and move on', Many things can be said to a model, to bring out a desire look that extends into her eyes, ranging from hateful to super seductive. A Model top of her business is in addition to looking great has the ability to project, on request a "client pleasing set" quickly no matter what or who or where it is. Freeze in swimwear, kiss bad breath canot spoil the shot or delay it. Fashion designers can use their see through or lingerie lines to test the confidence of posible new runway models in addition to possibly being round as they change garment in a try on. Look at the "so you want to be the Next top Model"and see where the tasks are set to get the girls to know if they have what it takes to be a professional. You appear to have tried a lot of places I am not familiar with the London agents thse days. Gumtree is not where I would look if I was starting but on my computer. Starting with Models1, Storm etc if I really am that super a potential model or my local camera club if my starting point ismore realistic and knowledge and Pictures are the priotity.
