What is the cost of living in London?

• I'm a university student, and want to do several months of English in London and would like to know the cost of living in this city. I wonder too, as is the relationship between natives and foreigners, has a lot of prejudice, if the population is susceptible... because I'm Brazilian. Thaks and sorry my english.

  You can get a room to rent in a shared house fairly cheaply - depending on whether you want your own room or are happy to share a mixed or single sex dorm room. You're probably looking at about £350-400 a month all in for a decent room in a nice area (for students, more if u went for a professional house). Dorm rooms vary but can be quite a bit cheaper. The cost of day to day living is similar to any major city. I've lived in Paris and Edinburgh before London and it's not noticeably more expensive. There are options for all budgets - day to day bills, food etc are similar and there's plenty of choice of nightlife and social activities that you can do even if you're trying to save pennies. And as for prejudice - icant really offer much insight but I've always found London to be incredibly cosmopolitan & accepting of other cultures, faiths etc. Obviously there will be people and areas where you won't experience that - but live in a nice neighbourhood & I think you'll find it to be an open minded and liberal place :) hope that helps!
