  • i am currently applying for jobs and have filled out application forms for big companys such as pizza hut, argos and boots and was just wondering which big chains take on anyone and are recruting a lot of the time ? I live in the uk. I have applied for many open jobs. Also which uk shops or reastraunts pay good money for 16 year olds ? I dont want to earn only minimum wage !

    There is nobody recruiting "a lot of the time". The country is going through an economic recession which means employers have to cut costs in order to survive as a business. This cost cutting involves not hiring new staff, and in some cases, laying off existing staff (job cuts). If you didn't take education seriously, and so never went to college to get any type of qualification, then minimum wage is all you will get

At 16, you're probably not really worth the National Minimum Wage (£3.64 an hour) to an employer, anyway. You don't know what a day's work is, you have poor English language skills, you don't know how to do anything until they teach it to you, you're only interested in working to get money and not for the joy and pride of working, you have no company loyalty and you think the world owes you a living!
