Is the Bank of England going to change the design of 50 pounds banknotes?

I have a piece of old 50 pounds note the previous design one can i still change at the bank or antique shop?

  • are all antique shops accept old sterling pound notes ., will antique shop give me a better value than bank pls guide me . Thank you .

  • Answer:

You can only change a torn note if you have both serial numbers, otherwise you could tear up a note and get it changed lots of times(I wish). If you have really old notes you might get a better deal selling them to an antique dealer as a bank would only give you the note value.

It can't be that old because the £50 note has not been out all that long, and has never been in popular circulation because it is worth forging. If you have the bit with the serial number on, then take it to your bank. They will forward it to the Bank of England, who will check it out. It takes time, but you may eventually get your £50. Same with old £1 and ten shilling notes. For £50, it's worth a try. It is worth nothing at a numismatist (coin shop).
