What does an 18 year old high school graduate have to do to move to London, UK?

  • You guessed it. I want to move to london when I graduate this decemeber. I am 18. Me and rather feminine male friend want to move to the UK but we don't know where to start! Oh and we currently live in Colorado, USA.

    I can understand the attraction of London at 18, especially if your into the alt scene. A word of caution, London is as grey and grimy as it looks in british films, when things are not going well. You will be competing for work with the whole of western europe, because we're members of the EU, and the cost of living is always bizarrely high. If you're still determined to relocate, you should spend an extended holiday here first, say 2 months on a strict budget. If you hate it or things don't work out, you still have a return ticket and you haven't wasted a bucket load on immigration fees, lawyer fees freight and customs costs. oh, and make sure you buy all your istuff in the US, we pay top dollar for everything.

You will have to obtain a work visa or a school visa, or apply for dual citizenship (which isn't cheap) Basically you have to prove to them you're going there to be a useful part of society, through work, education, or becoming a citizen.
