Salary question on a job application?

Help! stuck on 'Current Employment' section in job application form?

  • I am currently in full time education therefore I am unemployed as for now. I am applying for H-Samuels as a part time job and there is a section on the application form which is 'mandatory' to fill out or I cant carry on! Details I have to include are: Your Work History Current Role (This section is mandatory) * From * Company * Salary per annum * Reason for leaving * Position * Notice Period -- (What is this?) * Tell us about your role Underneath this is a section where I can include my previous work roles in which I added Starbucks as my summer job which has been my only job so far and so I can't add it in the current employment section. (extra question - I only worked for 1 month and my pay was £6.10 per HOUR, and it says I have to write my salary per annum... does this mean I cant include this job?) Help/advice would be reaaaly appreciated please, this seems to be an occurring problem i'm finding whilst applying online!

  • Answer:

Under current role put in "In full time education" and in the rest put "N/A" Some of these Employers have right stupid application forms why can't they just take a CV, idiots. Good luck anyway.

when it says mandatory...all it means is that you have to put something...even if its just sayinmg that it doent apply to you. earnings per annum are how much you earned over the year...so if you only worked there for a month then you put down how much you earnt that month.... notice period is how much notice you have to give your employer, this often depends on how long you have worked there but for example..you may have to give an employer two weeks notice. so you hand in your resignation and two weeks later you no longer work there (ths is so your employer has a reasonable amount of time to find a replacement) ...however if you are currently unemployed this doesnt count.... BTW...full time education covers current employment (you cant be in fulltime education and full time work at the same time), so if it doesnt apply to you, just put that is does not apply.
