How did you become a PA or secretary?

Could I become a PA in London?

  • I have a BA in a social sciences discipline and an MSc in European Studies from LSE. My experience is mainly in press and publishing with some marketing and business included, including a summer in Paris working for a US company and working as a PA/au pair for family friends in Dubai for a few weeks. After my Masters, I spent six months interning with one of the information/communication centres of the European Commission in my home country of Ireland. I then went on an intergovernmental employment visa scheme between the Irish and Hong Kong governments which I have just returned from. I gained fantastic experience in Asia working as an editorial assistant (a role which included general administrative duties), a teacher trainer and teacher both at a government school and private centre. I also have intermediate French (which used to be fluent) and I'm progressing with Chinese... I'd like to move back to London now and become a PA, have some gaps in my CV from travel but hopefully that won't go against me... Could I make it as a PA?
