What's a typical saturday job?

Whats the best way to get a Saturday job?

  • The local paper never seems advertise saturday vacancies. My son is looking to work in a chemist (needs the experience before he goes to uni) Should we approach chemists direct. Is there a web site for saturday jobs? If he wanted to work in a supermarket should he approach them directly?

  • Answer:

Yes go direct to the shops and ask. Look in shop windows as you are walking round town or go to the jobcentre plus website and search local jobs there.

I would try the direct approach-thats what I did to get holiday jobs when I was younger.

Approach prospect employers and ask for what you want. Honesty is always your best policy.

It costs a lot of money to advertise vacancies and firms are reluctant to spend the money. Best way is to visit as many possibilities as possible and make it know that there is someone available to work if needed.

Hi There. Going into stores, chemists etc direct and asking if they have any saturday vacancies is usually the best way to do it or even looking through your local directory/yellow pages etc and ringing round places which are easier for him to get to and asking that way is a good option too. Hope this is of some help to you. Good luck

Approach supermarkets direct, but single chemists, well i reckon you should approach those by yourself and hand out his cv and dress smart. He will get one eventually. Goodluck x
