• Hello im single living in vancouver,bc and currently 7 months pregnant now and stop working i just apply my EI benefits,still waiting for decision,i have work benefits my question is do i need to cancel my work benefits coz they want me to pay $67 a month for the benefits since im out of work and also can you claim any benefits on that insurance coz our health insurance is manulife,and also can i get benefits like welfare on goverment even i get Ei benefits pls i need advice coz i thing my EI wont be enough to pay my own apt..help pls

They have an email address you can send this question to or call them (might be a lot quicker) and ask "Do I have to pay extra for my health insurance through work although I'm on leave"). They'll be able to tell you. From what I can understand she wants you to start contributing to the Manulife insurance plan although you are out on maternity leave. Not sure if that is correct or not. Anyway, the website will give you the phone number to call. If they don't know, they'll know who to talk to, although this sounds like something they should be able to walk you through.
