What are some good beauty tips/secrets?

Beauty School in Toronto?

  • I'm currently 18 and I'm entering University in September. (Going to OCAD for Illustration) I enjoy illustration and I want to complete it so I can get my bachelor's degree and hopefully find a job in that field. But my real passion is beauty. I know they don't offer beauty degrees in University but it really is my real passion. I'm thinking of being a part-time student at a beauty school or maybe doing full-time beauty school after I pay off all my tuition and get my own place. What are your suggestions for a high school graduate my age? Is this field the right way to go? (Although with my Bachelor's degree, I would have other roads besides beauty school) Should I just concentrate on Illustration and leave beauty as a hobby? Also, I wanted to know which beauty school is the best in the Toronto area. I've seen some websites but I'm still uncertain on what they offer. The main fields I'm interested in are: - Hairstyling (cutting, styling, dying, perming, extensions) - Nails (acrylics, designing) - Make-up I'm really confused about how they offer courses in beauty schools. Do they make you major in one and pay separate for each course? I'd love to hear about your experiences, insight, and opinions. Thanks!

  • Answer:

If it's what you want to do, and you have a real passion for it, Go for it. You can still go to college, and do whatever else you want to do. But if you really want to do it, You should. Cosmetology is the course you would want to do. That's skin, hair and nails, You don't have to pay for each seperate course, You just pay for the cosmetology course(Which is quite expensive.), and they will teach you everything you need to know about Hair, Skin, Nails(And even electricity, Anatomy and Chemistry.). Beauty Schools...Every single school is different, even if it's a branch of one school. I suggest, going in for a tour, ask questions, get your hair done by the students. If they seem professional, and the school fits you, go to that one. But just don't keep to the well known schools, The lesser known schools are just as good.
