How feasible it is to get a descent IT job in Canada?

  • Hi All, I am a 4 years bachelor’s degree holder in Computer Science, and have 10 years experience Designing and implementing software systems using J2EE and RDBMS. Out of 10 years last 4 years I am working in USA. I am planning to apply for a Canadian PR. Can anyone tell me how feasible for me to get a decent Job in any Canadian city? How I can start searching for job in Canada while leaving in USA. Thanks Amit

    I'm not sure Descent is hiring. Use Workopolis, decide where you want to work, set your parameters and get some searches going. Decide what kind or which companies you want to work for, hit their websites and see if they have any positions that you can apply for. You must be eligible to work in Canada in order to apply for work in Canada, so make sure your paper work is in order. Good luck with your search.

I'm sure you can find something, but to get a decent paying IT job the competition is pretty fierce. Ontario may be the business hub of Canada, but Alberta is where the work is at right now - all of Canada is not equal, so relocate wisely.
