What are the qualifications for University of Toronto?

Tutoring fees in Toronto, Canada?

  • I live in Toronto, Canada. I am currently working at a tutoring center and getting paid $16 an hour for teaching Grade 12 Advanced Functions. It is one on one tutoring and I am required to go to the student's home (It's not very far...5-10min drive). When I got this job...I didn't have any job experience and not much tutoring experience and I'm only in first year university. So I'm not expecting to get paid much but I think $16 an hour is underpaid (despite my qualifications). What do you think?

  • Answer:

no,you are overpaid :) for someone with no relevant specialized diploma and no experience, they should be happy with a minimum wage($9-$10)

considering your only on your 1st year in uni. which would make you 18/19, its not bad at all. You aren't a teacher and you dont have any experience in the field. ask yourself why SHOULD they pay you more when you aren't very qualified. If you feel you have qualifications that should be considered for a higher salary, let your job know. if you were a teacher you would expect 30/hr, easy. i know being inexperienced sucks but thats how it is, gain the experience, and get hired better hourly.

dude..you are so overpaid. you are first year university which means you took this stuff only last year. Ur not that much higher than the student you are teaching so , be greatful . Ihave a degree from york univ and i get friggin like 12 bucks an hour for doing an IT job (and i have a degree in IT). Well im not complaining but im saying that you should not.
