What is the fare for Canada Line?

Due to Primus-Canada error my old Tel # is lost on line move fm Bell. P'mus refuses to own up. Who to contact?

  • I am in Toronto Canada - I moved my phone line with two numbers (main number + Distinctive ring ID) from Bell to Primus few weeks ago ... After transfer of line, one number was lost ... Bell refuses to help because as per their records Primus Canada did not ask them for both numbers ... Primus agrees for their error, but wanted me to contact Bell for a reservation of number ... On contacting, Bell refuses to give me back my old number / reserve the number without additional charge of $55 for a new line ... Primus does not want to pay up this charge, even though it happened due to their error. Does any one know of any Govt/ Public dept/ agency in Canada which can push Primus to own-up their responsibility of their own mistake? Is their any other way ? Thanks

  • Answer:

Bell is legally obliged to release all of you contact information to the new carrier. Primus should have contacted bell to get this information When you registered to switch carriers. I encountered the same problem switching from bell to rogers. The only way you can really get help is to contact the better business bureau. It really won't do much in terms of rectifying the situation, other than to have a registered complaint on file in case you are able to get any sort of reimbursement. Unfortunately when you are dealing with larger companies, you are screwed. I hate to tell you, but you will need to absorb the cost an move on. I sympathies with your plight, I have nothing but trouble with telecom companies.

If it makes you feel any better, we had a similar thing happen when we tried to move to Rogers from Bell! Rogers couldn't complete the order and canceled the migration and said we were not clients, and Bell said we were not clients. Free telephone? We are still waiting for a bill! We had some satisfaction when we finally got to talk to someone who was the supervisor of the help desk folk and could actually DO things! Good luck!
