Is there such thing as a monthly pass for the London underground?

How Much Spending Money For A Week In London?? :)?

  • My friend and I are going to London for a week in October more than likely. She is 21, and I'm 20. The flight and hotel is going to be around $1200. I was wondering how much extra cash should I bring for spending? I plan on getting a London Pass, probably the 6 day $180 one..which lets you in 55 attractions free..as well as free transportation which will save a lot of money. So I'm mostly worried about money for eating, I don't plan to do a whole lot of shopping..but I'm sure I'll buy a thing or two, and then whatever other expenses we might need. Could anyone tell me a round about figure of how much I should bring? Any other tips will be appreciated!! Thanks :)

I guess it really depends on where you will be going or what kind of things you want to do. If you're not spending extra money on taxis and have all your transportation covered that will be a huge saving. As for eating out, lunch in a cafe would cost around £10 for a sandwich a coffee and a pastry. Dinners would be more expensive depending on where you go expect to pay anywhere between £15-£25 or upwards if you go to a good Restaurant. I don't know if you're staying in a hotel but if you plan on spending the daytime exploring the city think about little expenses that might come up. for example a taxi fare for a short trip (£5-£10) drinks, coffee and snacks during the day as well as stopping for lunch, and then some pocket money if you spot something you'd like to buy. It all depends on your budget and what you can afford, I would say you would need at least £30-£40 per day (especially if you want to eat out) It's always best to have more than you need rather than run out, and give yourself a little extra in case you see a nice top or gift somewhere, If you don't spend it then great but best to have some just in case. Enjoy yourself!

Hi Like Jane's said, 30 -40 pounds a day would be sufficient if you do not intend on shopping, clubbing or drinking a lot :) you might want to see some other attractions, and a lot of museums and galleries are free. I could imagine you would like to go for a drink to a club or a pub, in this case a large glass of wine would be around £5 in Central London. Try not to use taxis, but the tube and buses. A coffee would cost around £3. Food for breakfast etc try to use Tesco, Sainsbury's and not those small newsagents shops. Have fun!
