Are there any Burger Kings in Nice?

Why have almost all the burger kings in Greater London closed down?

• All the Burger Kings around where I live have closed down. Places include Hounslow, Greenford, Southall, Feltham and Hayes to name a few, can anyone explain why they have closed so suddenly?

  It's probably a lack of profitability for the franchisees. They have to buy/lease the premises, hire their staff, pay for BK to supply their ingredients but have little control over the prices that BK are promoting. The value menu and the huge numbers of Buy One, Get One Free vouchers that BK are distributing will have a definite impact on the franchisees' profits. As I understand it, in many cases the impact is a hugely negative one. Although the promotions are bringing extra customers in the door, most are after the bargains and are not paying for sufficient additional product to offset the loss of income. London rents/property prices are astronomical so this is where BK's franchisees are most likely to find that they're running either at a loss or for insufficient profit to enable ongoing investment in the business. This is not just in the UK, a number of outlets in the USA have the same problem, one example is in the first link below. The other shows the vouchers that the company is handing out like confetti (you need to give a few basic details which you could just be creative with and the email address you provide is not validated before you're given the vouchers)..
