Is South West London posh? or rough?

Good restaurants in South-West London. advice on where to dine?

  • hello, So im organising something for a few friends and we are looking for a nice restaurant in South-West London. Food-wise we are looking for maybe Italian or pretty generic but nice stuff, something for everyone. Nothing too expensive but equally nothing desperately budget, maybe £30 a head. Im far from a food guru so any advice is much welcome. South-West london is important as none of us want to commute far, though central london is fine also. We want that city buzz you get when you eat out somewhere nice :) thanks in advance

I suggest you look at www.toptable.co.uk This site will show you the restaurants in the area you want to go to. You will see what other people thought about the place. You will also be able to book on-line and often get a good deal. I do not know the South-West London area, but if you want to come into town, there are plenty of places in Soho. There is most definitely a buzz around this area. You will also find China Town with many excellent places to eat here. The Italian Kitchen on New Oxford Street is my favourite Italian in all of London, if you have set your heart on Italian. Sarastro on Drury Lane is another favourite. Enjoy!

Al Duca is an excellent Italian place in south west London, 4-5 Duke of York Street, St.James, SW1Y 6LA, Tel 020 7839 3090. A perfect place for an evening meal with very friendly staff and an extensive wine list. The beef carpaccio with rocket and parmesan is a standout. Recommended.
