I was a chef for many years in Toronto and depending on how much you want to spend, in that area, there are the hotels, the only Fran's down that way is on Victoria St one block east of Yonge and Richmond, the nearest Golden Griddle is on Carlton acrossed from the old Maple Leaf Gardens. There is a place on Richmond near University, called Dunn's t is a deli but has a nice breakfast and the portions are large. There are a couple of places on Queen between University and Spadina. Shopsy's on Front near Yonge and there is a Movenpick Marche in the Canada Trust building, also if you want to walk throught the walkway between the Royal Bank and BMO towers there are few places, it all depneds on the time you have and how much walking you want to do. The hotels like Royal York, Ramada, Hoilday Inn and the Cosmopalitan are quite pricey.
