-
My 19th Birthday is on well the 19th, and I want to go with a bunch of my friends to a nice restaurant downtown Toronto. I'm looking for something trendy yet not too expensive. I was thinking about Everest http://www.dine.to/everest I like the style, and the menu is fairly inexpensive. Any help would be great <3

Answer:
I ama former chef and worked downtown for many years, I have been to Everest and it is very nice, maybe if your into chinese food, a Dim Sum lunch at one of the places on Dundas or Spadina, Golden Harvest is upstairs on Dundas near Huron, there is a small place on Spadina east side just up from Dundas and the Big place at the corner of Baldwin and Spadina acrossed the street from Pho Hung. Alot has to do with you and your dining companions tastes, there is a Mandarin at Eglinton and Yonge, some of the hotels have nice brunch with music and good food, check with your friend get some ideas were they would like to go and use the on-line sites like dine.to and Toronto Life magazines info for more details.

well; since your not sure what food you want, i'd go looking for a buffet! It has a variety of foods to choose from, PLUS, all you can eat. It'd be lots of fun, Just don't eat TOO much of that good stuff ; )

Well first off I would recommend that you post this exact question here http://www.chowhound.com/boards/23 on Chowhound. This is where all the local foodies chat about everything food in Toronto and Ontario. You wont get recommendations for the old spaghetti factory????? or any of the tourist traps on king west by the theater district. If I were to recommend a place that I think your friends would have fun at, it would be Yamato in yorkville. It is a teppanyaki restaurant where the Japanese chefs cook right in front of you and they have a few tricks up their sleeves. There is your classic steak and seafood so you dont have to worry about everyone not liking the menu, I recommend the fried rice . Everyone should go to one of these restaurants at least once. I would also recommend the Rosebud on Queen West because it is very trendy and amazing comfort food. If you have your heart set on Everest, just post it on chowhound and ask the hounds if they think this is a good place to go for your B day. Happy 19th, have a drink for Dalton!

My daughter loves to go to Spadina Garden. It's near Yonge & Dundas so it's quite accessible. The Muse
