Is Popeyes Chicken halal in Toronto locations?

• Over the past week, I have heard many rumors regarding Popeyes. I was told by many people that from Aug 1, all Popeyes stores will be haram as they are using machine slaughtering to cut their chicken. I was wondering is that the only concern or is it that the place where they're getting their chicken from is haram as well? Also, if it is only because they are using machine slaughtering, I don't see why there is anything wrong with that. There is nothing wrong with machine slaughtered meat as long as you can still recite the required verses needed to be read in order to have a halal slaughter as well as 4 veins being cut. so if anybody has any insight on this please let me know. thanks

  I was to the one at Spadina and College St last night and asked the manager who is a friend of mine, he said no but they buy from Maple Lodge Farms the large chicken processing plant in Norval, just west of Brampton, he explained that while there is only a minor cost difference but it is not done, I also know KFC does not either, I worked with a Kosher catering firm way back when I was chef and I buy Halal meat at the grocery store as I only eat chicken, it is not in big demand and even in neighbourhoods/area with a high Muslim population it would be nice but unlikely.
