Can someone recommend a reasonably priced seafood restaurant?
-
I want to go to a restaurant serving mostly seafood dishes for my birthday. Not everyone in my family like seafood though, so maybe seafood is the main style but not the only option. Also I dont want to pay $30 for a main thats just a mouthful, you know those wanky dishes confit of pureed liver smushed with red wine jus on a bed of parmaliaitled onion mash (gimme a break). I wonder is there a buffet style place out there with decent reviews or somewhere you could recommend? Thanks!

Answer:
Have been to Sante restaurant at Crown which is a buffet style restuarant with seafood and all other types of food. Its a reasonable price. If you want just to eat one main meal the food at The Pub at Crown is great with seafood and other meals. My son and I shared the seafood platter for two, it was really good and had a variety of seafood at a reasonable price $47- or even the fishermans basket at $19-90. We have been to The Pub at Crown and has great food at a reasonable price. These are ones in the city. We go to Roxburgh Park hotel where they have buffet style meals all you can eat for $23-90. The food is really good.Hope I have been of help.

Red Lobster-Their meals are $20 and under and they have other things on the menu like chicken and steak. If you would like a seafood buffet, check out your local paper. A lot of local restaurants where I live have a Friday night seafood buffet.

The Melba restaurant at the Langham Hotel in Melbourne is fantastic! On a Fri, Sat, Sun it's around $70 per head (a little cheaper on week days) but the food is fantastic and it's buffet style. It's more of a high end establishment but rest assured the food is great, the sea food is great, the service is great and it's all you can eat! The $70 includes an Indian bar (they make great indian), a Pasta Bar (they make pasta dishes on demand), A stir fry bar (they make stirfrys on demand), the best peaking duck wraps, great fresh sea food section, roasts section, antipasto section and more. The dessert section is amazing. It's well worth the money such a fantastic place.

Try Conservatory at Crown http://www.conservatoryatcrown.com.au/ It has a seafood buffet which ranges from $38 to $68 per person, depending on which day you go. Also try Melba at Langham Hotel (also in Crown), which also has a buffet but is a bit more expensive. http://www.melbarestaurant.com.au/index.php/food-wine/dinner
