Why can't I get sound out of my aftermarket radio?

Radio powers on but no sound?

• I have a clarion nz500 it was installed and worked fine for about 3 months then one day no sound. I took the unit out and had it in my home for a several days and thought I would try to test a few things out and the sound came back after messing with the settings and getting it back the way I like I turned off the car and turned it back on and no sound. Basically when it is 1st put in it works fine then after I shut it down it wont come back, the company that sold me the radio said that the issue lies in my system and said they will issue me a refund but I really like the radio and its features and cant find another around the same price. I would really like to get this one working correctly.

  First of all have you changed your factory speakers if you have. check if the speakers are not grounding or touching the metal I mean the terminals or the wires that go to each speaker it usually happens when a wire or the terminals of the speakers are grounding or touching the chassis on your vehicle. Other reason is that one speaker might be blown.
