CD player in car wont work?
-
I bought a cd player for my car over a year ago and It was working perfectly.... recently it cuts off and on and random times... I would be listening to a song then the cd player shuts down and says "have a nice day" as if I turned it off myself . then after a few minutes (if im lucky) it would cut back on for another 10 mins or so....

Answer:
What's happening is that your CD player is losing accessory voltage. That's the power source that's controlled by your key switch. When the voltage drops out, the CD player thinks your key has been turned off, so it shuts down. Unfortunately, it might be tricky to track down the source of the problem. The accessory power wire is the red wire at the back of the CD player. Somewhere, between the key switch and the CD player's power plug, there's a loose connection. It may be: -a loose pin in the CD player power plug -a bad crimp between the CD player wiring and the adapter harness -a loose pin in the adapter harness or the factory radio plug -a poor connection at the vehicle fuse box, or a loose fuse in the fuse box -a problem in the ignition switch itself Check the radio fuse in the vehicle fuse box for proper fit, and for signs of corrosion. It won't hurt to replace the fuse, even if it looks bad. Check the crimps and connections behind the CD player. If you have a multimeter available, you can test the voltage at various points along the power wire to see if you can identify the place where it drops. If all else fails, you can just run your own new wire to a key-switched power source, and connect your CD player's accessory power there instead of the factory wiring.

The amp is most likely bad. Or, if your hitting bumps it could be the connections. My friend had a problem like this. She had a Hyundai Tiburon and the sound would cut out, but only when it rained. Well, I discovered that water was leaking in right by her amp and shorting it out....

It is malfunctioning, why, it's junk, go to the manufacturer with evidence you bought it a year ago, and have them fix it
