Pioneer remote stopped working?

1000W Sony Amp with 1200W Pioneer Sub, too much?

• I recently was overseas in America and purchased a 1200W Pioneer Sub and 1000W Sony amp, not to sure of the other details about it as I am not too familar on the subject (Pretty basic ones you'd find at any walmart). After connecting them up to my sub box they worked perfectly for about 4 days, till one day they stopped working. After checking all the connections I found that it was my sub that is not working anymore and i believe it may be possibly blown? Wanting to know if there was any possible way i could fix it myself as it is from overseas and also was the amp too high powered for the sub? Have heard that maybe it was. Or could it have been from music that was too loud. Please help, would love to have it working again! Any suggestions welcomed!

  its the RMS rating you should be looking at,this is the continuous power an amplifier can make per channel or if a class d amplifier will give you a total RMS rating.a class d amp is best for running a sub or subs. your sub woofer or woofers it or they will have a total RMS they can handle.if you have 2 then you add the RMS of both together.and a match from sub or subs to amplifier.and if you find equipment that don't give you this figure it is not worth buying.if it is not on the sony amplifier or sub woofer you might be able to find it on line.by the equipment you named you should be fine.and ohms matters,most sub woofers are rated to run at a 4 ohm load,if you run at a lower ohm load you have to make sure your equipment can handle it.the lower the ohms the bigger the draw on your charging system.hope this helps.
