What is the best HD Radio Head Unit?

How do I hook up a cb radio into the same power source as my head unit?

  • I am trying to hook up my cb radio which has a standard 12 v DC power cord. The end of the power cord is basically two wires one red and one black (I am assuming one negative and one positive). Is there a way to tap into the same power source as my head unit? The head unit is after market and I put it in myself so I have all the wires covered with electrical tape where they are exposed. I can remove electrical tape if I can tap into the power source there. Thanks! Thanks!

  • Answer:

that is a very chopped up job. your headunit wires should have been soldered than wrapped. tapping the cb into the radio power wire can cause to much of a power draw on that circuit. you can run the power wire to an empty space in the fuse panel. or run it directly from the battery. always install a fuse. What kind of car you got. sounds like a dodge. I would hook everything back up the way you had it b4 the cb. Make sure you are disconnecting the battery before you do any electrical work. And run the cb strtaight off the battery with a switch for now.
