How many RMS does my 2 12" jbl subs have?

Which 3 12 inch subs? pioneer TS-W306C or audiobahn AW1251T?

  • recently bout a triple 12 inch sub box after many weeks of reaserching iv decided to go with eva - 3x pioneer TS-W306C 3x audiobahn TS-W306C not sure which 3 to buy as both subs cost the same price and both are 400 rms, i have a jbl 1201.1 amp to power the three subs as the amp kicks just under 1200 rms @ 2 ohms, which set would you buy if at all and why?

  • Answer:

Don't put the cart before the horse. In order to get a 2 ohm load to the amp, the subs will need to be 6 ohms each and all wired in parallel - example http://s81.photobucket.com/albums/j230/sparky3489/?action=view&current=PARALLEL.jpg

Do not buy audiobahn, it is a waste of money. You will need either dual 4 ohms subs, wired in series to theirselves, and then parallel to the amplifier (2.6 ohms) Or, if you use the TS-W306C in a single 4 ohm model, you will need an amplifier that is 1 ohm stable (3 subs wired parallel = 1.33 ohms)
