How do i install an amp and a subwoofer to my car?

    Everybody else that answered had it pretty much right. But they left out some important details. Absolutely, connect the power wire last. This will prevent anything that may catch you off guard and fry your amp during installation. Don't forget the inline fuse also, this should be about 12 inches away from the battery under the hood. Also look for areas in your firewall so you don't have to drill a hole to lead the power wire into the car. The ground wire needs to be connected to bare metal, make sure any paint is sanded off where the connection is made. And lastly, before you drill a hole for the ground wire or mounting your amp down, be sure you won't drill into your gas tank, I've seen people make that mistake.

If you've never done it before then go have someone that does it professionally do it. You can short curcuit you car and cause a lot more damage if its not correct. To you have to know what gauge wire you will need and if you need an inline fuse, capacitor, and several other components just so it will work properly

you need to buy an amp wiring kit.... You need to run a wire from the positive side of the battery to where it says power on the amp.... then you run a wire from where it says ground on ur amp to a metal surface (most people ground to the trunk under the rug).... then you run rca cables from ur headunit to the rca jacks on the amp and a blue remote wire from the headunit wire harness to where it says remote on ur amp....

bm33 is correct but i suggest when you run the rca wires do not run them right next to the powerwire cuz that can cause road noise which is humming that comes out of your subs. i run the power wire and remote wire on the sameside and its easiest to run it on the side that your better is on. just undo the trim that is under your door and run it through there. then put the trim back on covering the wires. i reccomend a 2gauge amp kit cuz 2 gauge wiring can pretty much handle anything but check your amp see how many watts it is then look at the amp kit and make sure it can handle your amp

take the blue wire from ur memory wire on ur cd p;ayer then plug in ur rca jacks then run them to ur amp then run ur power wire to ur battery then hook up ur ground and then hook up ur speakers then u will be bumping in no time ,after tht play with the bass controls on ur amp to how u would like it to sound..u can but an amp wireing kit at walmart in the audio section..good luck
