What is stereo stable?

What could be wrong with my newly installed car stereo?

• Hi all, I have a 1992 honda civic, which I bought with no stereo, all the wires were just sitting in the hole taped up. I bought a brand new Kenwood KDC-mp235.. I installed it following the wiring colors at the install Dr. Website. I hooked the battery up, and the stereo doesn't turn on. I pulled the stereo out and tested all the power wires: 12v battery, 12v ignition, and ground. And all were getting power. I checked the stereos internal fuse: good. I cleaned off the screw where the ground connects to the frame and reattached it. I then hooked the battery back up and nothing still. I tried pushing the reset button on the stereo as well as the obvious of turning on the ON button. What else could possibly be wrong: Is the only possibility a broken stereo? thanks

  so in other words you straight wired it to the car battery?OK if it came on then the CD player is working fine. see if the yellow wire has constant power,if so that's fine try the red wire turn the ignition to on see if the red has power if so the CD player should work. make sure you have it grounded right. if CD player still wont come on put a new fuse in it some times the fuses look good but are bad. if that don't work idk with out telling you how to hook it up diff. from the wire harness. if you wont to do it that way get some speaker wire the yellow wire coming out of the CD player run it to a fuse that is always power. the red wire hook it up to a fuse that only comes on with the car on, you need a power test light, so try that if nothing else works or get a new CD player.
