  • I have a 1000 Watt Kenwood 2 channel Amp. I would just like to connect the amp up to my subwoofer. I already have stock wiring for a subwoofer in my car. DO I?!?!... Connect the stock wiring to the LINE IN (RCA) in my amp and then wire my sub to the LINE OUT (RCA) ??? PLEASE HELP MEEEE!!!

  • Answer:

"stock wiring for a subwoofer in my car" no car has stock wiring for a sub unless it was one of those crappy factory installed subs that gives you a little extra bass and is tucked away somewhere, and those wires wont be any good for a "real" sub setup you will need the power wire that goes from your battery to the amp with an in-line fuse by the battery and the wire has to be the correct thickness (this will help with that http://www.crutchfield.com/learn/learningcenter/car/cable_gauge_chart.html) and a ground wire from the amp to the cars chassis a "remote wire" that goes from the radio to the amp tells the amp to turn on with the radio and you also need RCA cables that go from the radio to the amp to send the audio signal if you have a factory installed radio you will more than likely also need a "line output converter" to give your radio a set of RCA outputs for the amp to be installed (here are some http://www.sonicelectronix.com/cat_i331_line-out-converters.html) sounds like you need a wiring kit (most come with everything that you need) here are some http://www.sonicelectronix.com/cat_i43_amplifier-wiring-kits.html
