How do I remove the rear speakers?

How To Remove Rear 6.5 Door speakers on 92' GMC Jimmy.?

  • Pulled the panels from the rear doors on my 4dr Jimmy today because the left rear speaker stopped playing. I intend on installing new 6.5 component speakers but, there is some type of plastic slug that is melted into the speaker mount hole. It looks factory but, I've never seen this before. Should I drill the center of the slug out and install new screws or what? Didn't want to mess up the bracket that holds the speakers into the doors. Thanks.
