I need help with picking the right amp.

NEED HELP PICKING AN AMP TO RUN SPEAKERS ASAP!?

  • Ok... I Have a 6 speaker setup... 4 door speakers and adding 2 tweeters up front... ALL RUN AT 35 RMS AND 4 OHMS... Im new to the "OHMS" and what-not, so should I be looking for a 6 channel amp? A 3 channel to bridge? Now... If I add a 7th center speaker would that have to run at 70 RMS on a bridged 4 channel amp since it'l be the only one not bridged on the 4th channel? Ideally I just want the 6 speaker set up... Oh yeah, I already have an amp and sub connected so this would be a second amp, any other things I would need? I heard about some kind of power splitter to split the 2 amps??? PLEASE HELP

  • Answer:

you only need 1 amp. check out this one http://www.crutchfield.com/p_113KAC2404/Kenwood-KAC-2404S.html?tp=35782. you might need to get a bigger gauge amp kit maybe a 0 depending on how watts your sub is but it never hurts to go 0 gauge. once you get your new 0 gauge amp kit in you need two distribution blocks(power block) to for the power and the ground such as this one http://www.crutchfield.com/p_211FBXS024/StreetWires-FBXS024.html?tp=792. then your gonna just need to order the proper amount of gauge wire and one ground wire but the ground will come with your amp kit. you only need a little extra wire to split the power cable to both amps. check out this guide minus the capacitor. you dont need a capacitor. http://www.crutchfield.com/learn/learningcenter/car/amplifiers_wiring.html?g=710&tp=539. any more questions look herehttp://www.crutchfield.com/App/Learn/Article/Menu.aspx?g=100&tp=14&evar39=Header:Amplifiers,_EQs_&_Processors or just call them there number is listed... good luck oh yeah with the ground wires from your amps will need to go to the other power block(distribution block) and then one zero gauge grounded to your car.... feel free to email me if you need more help. oh yeah theres more info on OHMS on there website

The use of sub-woofers in residential areas violates most local noise ordinances. And though the police ordinarily do not issue summonses to offenders, they do have the legal right to do so. Additionally the low frequencies travel easily through most building walls. So using these car mounted "boomers" is the height of social irresponsibility. And you should stop.
