How to upgrade car audio?

• Hey guys, I think I'm gonna slowly upgrade my car audio system in my 04 Cheverlet Trailblazer LS. All the choices are overwhelming me, however! What should I upgrade first, and how much should I spend? I'm no audio geek, but I do know a little bit about what sounds good and what doesn't as a musician. I want a good, solid bass but not too overwhelming, so I'm thinking about starting with a subwoofer, but any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! In Christ, Austin

  One thing you can do is just replace your factory speakers. This would be the easiest thing to do. Check out some Infinity's or maybe Rockford Fosgate. As for bass, if you want solid bass, try 10 inch woofers. JL makes a good 10 inch sub. Alpine makes a good amp that will push two 10's. The 10's will give you tight, solid bass without the heavy, low, distorted bass that a 12 or 15 might deliver. A 10 is the musicians bass. JVC makes a good deck that comes with a nice price. I personally don't like pioneer decks. Also, kenwood and Alpine have nice decks. You'll pay more for an Alpine though. Get one that has a 1/8th jack on the front, this way you can plug in a majority of MP3 players right into the front of your stereo.
