What's wrong with my car speakers?

My front car speakers are very quiet. I replaced the speakers and the new ones are quiet. Whats the deal??

  • I drive a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo and my front stock speakers were very quiet. Thinking it was the speakers I bought and installed some new speakers. Those speakers are now quiet and I don't know what the deal is. I understand its probably wiring, but where? It's quite frustrating!

  • Answer:

It could be the fader.. But also could be the wiring the goes from the stereo to the speakers. First them check that. And if that aint the problem. Bring it to a stereo store and they have something to check the wiring to make sure that is good. Hope this is help to you. ..

Check the fader and balance. They're usually controlled through the menu on the radio where you set the bass, treble, etc. Consult your manual if you don't know how to set them.

possibly exposed wires touching or rubbing against each other, if you check the connection and everything is sound then it's more than likely your deck is junk some jeeps come with a deck that has a built in amp, the amp could possibly be blown...AND don't forget to check the fader and balance.
