How do I change the front speakers in my car?

How do i put new speakers in my ford contour sport 97 (front and back)?

• i just buaght my first car. its a 97 ford contour sport and the back speakers are blown and i want to speakers in the front and back. but theres the plastic crap covering the speakers so i cant see them and i have no idea how to switch the speakers or change them. if anyone can help its very much appreatied :)

  I had a '00. You have to take the door panels off to access the speakers. Here's a thorough step by step with pics (step 1-5): http://www.contour.org/ceg-vb/showthread.php?t=6702 As for speakers - most any 5x7/6x8 should install with minimal mods (if any). For my fronts I installed a 6.5" woofer by building an adapter out of thin plywood. Simple mod, and a decent 6.5 will outperform a great 5x7.
