Car Stereo help please?
-
I have a Blaupunkt Car 2003 stereo in my car, I had to change my car battery recently and it messed up my stereo, no problem right? just put the code in WRONG! The stupid thing won't let me put the code in. I am following the sequence to get the code display up but my stereo isn't recognising the sequence: Turn radio off press and hold AS key turn radio on wait for confirmation beep enter code press AS At first I was getting a confirmation beep but then nothing else was happening, no display screen for code entry. Now I am getting nothing at all no beep, no nothing the screen just stays the same regardless of what I press!! I need music in my car! Can anyone help me? thanks

Answer:
Firstly you must have the ignition on when doing this which i think you have as it was working to start with. You get 3 chances to get the code in if you put the wrong code i 3 times it will lock out. When it locks out you need to leave the radio switched on (and the ignition, if this is switched off it wont reset don't take the power off either that wont work) It sounds as though you have the wrong code. If you can get me some numbers off the side of the radio i will give you the correct code, i need the serial number of the radio and the number that begins with 76. Every time after your third attempt the radio locks out for 30 minutes.

your better off getting another radio. only a certified 12 volt repairman can fix your problem and its cheaper to get another radio.

you should contact a Blaupunkt dealer and ask them if they know about this issue and see if you stereo has a warranty? Try contactingi: Midwest Electronics and see if they can give you the answer you need [email protected]

Just checked, you seem to be doing the correct sequence, try removing the radio fuse for ten minutes & retrying. You must enter the code with the ignition on.

It sounds to me as if every time you've tried it has taken it as a wrong code. Some radios have a delay when a wrong code is entered so that you cannot just try random codes. This delay period increases every time it detects a wrong code. Try disconnecting the radio unit and leave it overnight, reconnect and carefully follow the instructions.
