How can I fix my amp?

Amp is fried any idea how I can fix it myself? ( in depth if possible)?

  • Because I bridged two of my three subs into one speaker slot on my amp and put the third sub in the other my amp was fried. What happened was my ohm's were around 3.35 from each sub, however when I bridged them together it lowered them to around a 1. My resistance on my amp was rated around a 3.5 which would of handled two un-bridged subs, but that wasn't my case. To run all three bridged I need a resistance rating of around one in an amp ( which isn't a cheap date) So my options are to build/buy a new box and only run two of my subs and buy a new amp, or repair my current amp and still only run two subs. My subs are three 10" k7's (2000 watts all three together) all hooked up in the same box, and my amp is a autotek AT2500. I'm kind of stumped at what to do at this point..,

  • Answer:

I would suggest to you to deliver it to someone that knows how to fix amps. But most likely you would have to change the xxx thats close to the output on each channel. Opening it will show you those probably looking a bit black from soot. But you wouldnt see easy what else could be wrong if your unlucky. If youre lucky as i say its just those close to output.
