Should I do the Big Three Upgrade?

Big Three Upgrade on car with the battery in the trunk?

  • Now i know upgrade power wire from alternator all the way back to the batt, then back there batt neg to chassi, then batt negative to engine block. so i will need 2 big long runs of 0 gauge? do i really need to use this second Long 0gauge wire for bat - to engine block??? because this is going to be like another $80??

  • Answer:

Yes, all wires need to be the same length. If not, it will receive more power than it can send back to the battery or to the ground, and that will just drain your battery more. It is as if you tried to put 10 people in a car built for five. Trust me, the upgrade is near pointless if you do not use the same gauge cable for everything. Best wishes.

Race car? What benefit will you get putting your battery in the trunk on a street driven passenger car?

I would just upgrade the engine ground... since thhe whle chassis is grounded, when you ground the battery and then the engine, its touching the same ground...
