How to wire neons to plug?

How can I power my sound reactive neons?

• I recently bought these sound sensing neon tubes (12v each) that plug into the cigarette lighter socket in a car. I removed the part what plugs into the car and attached it to some batteries (2 x 12v), and i was wondering if its possible to attach the negative and positive wire to a DC Plug somehow to push through 24v. Would this work? Would the neons explode? Any feedback is appreciated

  they are made to run on 12 volts not 24,do you know of any auto that has a 24 volt battery,i don't think so.1 12 volt battery will power them but if you have no way of recharging the battery its a waste of time.attach one to the other and use one 12 volt battery.power to power and ground to ground.without an alternator to recharge the battery it will not last long.they sell a 12 volt inverter that changes 110 power from your wall socket and turns it into 12 volt power source.with one of these you will be able to run them any were that you have a house plug.sold on line or at radio shack.hope this helps.
