Why are my subs constantly hitting as soon as I turn them on?

Why are my subs cutting out and not hitting hard like they should?

  • I have two 15" Alpine type r's and an Alpine mrp-m2000 amp with a jvc head unit. When i turn the volume up my subs are hitting but barely and i know they can go much louder. When the volume is pretty high at random times my subs will turn on and slam for a couple of seconds and then back to barely hitting again. I don't know what the problem is and have checked the wiring multiple times and it seems to be wired right. Anyone have a clue as to what it could be?

  • Answer:

check the controls on the amp. make sure its set on 4 channel, make sure the bass is up , check your cd player se what level your sub woofers are set on. if you have the subs hitting to hard when you first turn on system it will shut it self down. over load device

Subwoofers that cut in an out means that you have a bad ground location, an will need to properly sand off the paint surrounding it. If done correctly you will never encounter this problem again.
