How to wire a new stereo into a 1995 dodge intrepid?

Can I wire subwoofers and an amp to a factory stereo in a 2006 or 2007 dodge charger, and how?

  • I am just curious if there is a way to hook two 12" subs and an amp up to a factory dodge charger stereo without having to buy an aftermarket deck. I am currently trying to find a free wiring diagram to find out if the factory deck even has RCA jacks on it. If someone knows and can help that would be great.

  • Answer:

The factory deck will not have RCA's. So, unless your amp has line level inputs, you will need a line level converter to connect an amp to your factory stereo. You can tie into your rear speaker wires with the converter; the converter gives you an RCA output to go to an amp. You can get line level adapters (some times called hi/lo converters) at probably any place that sells car audio. May cost $20-$30 for the piece.

the best thing you can do is to take it to best buy and have them wire it. I have a Hummer with GPS and I paid like $150 for the wire and for them to wire it and install my 2 subs. What they did is ran my power cables and then took the wires from my back speakers and used those, Sounds great!
